Anatomy 4D puts every detail of the most complex human bodily systems into a free app that is easy to use, accessible, and truly engaging. Learners explore bodily systems in depth through daqri’s 4D experience, which provides the opportunity to understand their interrelationships spatially – a learning experience previously only accessible in a gross anatomy lab.
This iOS/Android app turns a 2d target image into a 3D version of the human body with different systems – circulatory, skeletal, etc that can be turned on and off. Moving your phone around allows you to view the model from multiple angles.
It’s quite impressive and probably has some use in anatomy classes. I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t tap on a body part and get its name. The demo video is definitely worth watching.
This was another resource I came across while doing a review of my LibGuide on emerging technologies.
