A Busy October of Webinars
A busy October of webinars came to a close with a hugely popular Mystery webinar: Red-Hot Crime for the Coldest Months. Matching its popularity on the youth side was E-Books in Schools: Lessons Learned from A to Z, where a panel of four school librarians discussed e-books and their implementation in their schools and libraries. One attendee commented, “I was glad to hear how school librarians are conscious of providing kids with the same ebook platform as the local public library. I never had thought of that. I called my public library after the Webinar, and they use Overdrive!”

A couple of helpful free webinars put out by the American Library Assocation.
This is my last highlight from ALA Executive Director Keith Michael Fiels’ report to the ALA Council and Executive Board. There is more that might be of interest to you if you read through the whole report. Future reports from Mr. Fiels will eventually be posted to the ALA Executive Board Documents page. I encourage you to read them.
