United for Libraries: the Association for Library Trustees & Advocates (UNITED)
Personal Giving Campaign
United for Libraries has embarked on a “Personal Giving” campaign with leadership from a special Presidential Task Force. With just over one week since the letters went out, just over $1,000 has been received. The goal of this campaign is to reach $20,000.
Developing a “Vote Yes” Campaign for Gilmanton, NH
A team made up of the three staff members of United for Libraries traveled to Gilmanton, NH the first week of December to help library supporters there develop a “Vote Yes” campaign to put the library’s budget into the town’s operating budget. A “yes” vote will turn this volunteer, donation-supported library into a tax-supported town agency. The funding for this consultation is paid for by the Neal-Schuman Foundation grant which United received last year.

I’ve been somewhat aware of the Association for Library Trustees & Advocates, but somehow not really aware they had rebranded themselves “United for Libraries.” Just another part of my Council education to look at ALA as a whole.
