A big fat index term – ALA District Dispatch

“Copyright – See Anti-counterfeiting and Anti-piracy”

via A big fat index term – District Dispatch.

A short read from Carrie Russell, Director of the Program on Public Access to Information in the Office for Information Technology Policy (OITP) of the American Library Association.

I think this index term is all you need to know how stacked the deck is on intellectual property. Despite the law, most Intellectual Property lawyers don’t seem to have any user rights on their radar. If we’re not careful, they’ll “fix” the law so that users will truly be without any rights. Since 1978, they’ve already stuck us with a stagnant public domain that mostly ends in 1923.
